Professional Experience
Miss Hughes's practice encompasses both criminal and civil law. She primarily undertakes defence caseload appearing in the magistrates court, youth court and the crown court throughout the southeast of England. She routinely defends cases involving domestic violence, public order, robbery, false instruments, social security fraud and various forms of assaults.
Although relatively junior, she has assisted in cases such as murder, rape, firearms, child cruelty and drugs. In addition, Miss Hughes has also undertaken probation work with some outstanding results.
Her burgeoning civil practice concentrates on employment and immigration and includes a successful sex discrimination claim agains a blue chip company. A number of contentious cases in employment law had been settled before the court hearing based on the written advice to solicitors.
