Anne Gray (2005)
Before being called to the Bar Anne educated her five children at home until they reached secondary school age. She read law at the University of Essex, where she won a number of prizes, including those for land law, administrative law and top student in both LLB Parts I and II. She graduated with a First Class degree in 2004, when she was also national winner of the OUP Mooting competition.
She is a member of Gray's Inn and was awarded a Prince of Wales Scholarship.
Anne, who is based at the Ipswich annex, now prosecutes and defends a wide range of cases in the Crown Court, Youth Court and Magistrates' Court, chiefly throughout Essex and East Anglia. Her previous experience, including a year's placement with Suffolk YOT, has proved a great asset with both adults and children, particularly those who are vulnerable.
Though predominantly a criminal law practitioner, Anne also undertakes a variety of civil work including contracts, education, landlord and tenant, employment and personal injury. She also has a particular interest in ecclesiastical law.
